1. VDTS Announces Tech Partnership with Czech firm DEUS

Indian defence company Vijayan Trishul Defence Solutions Private Limited on Thursday announced that it had entered into a strategic technology partnership with Czech firm DEUS Automation to collaborate in the small-calibre ammunition sector. VTDS stated that the agreement represents one of the first major technology-transfer collaborations between the two countries in the small-calibre ammunition sector and that it would strengthen long-term defence co-operation.

DEUS Automation would provide access to advanced international manufacturing technologies and expertise, which would contribute to the indigenous development of ammunition production capabilities.

2. Agni-4 Medium-range Ballistic Missile Test-fired from Odisha

The medium-range ballistic missile Agni-4 was successfully test-fired from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, Odisha, on August 6, 2026. The launch validated all operational and technical parameters.

The defence minister announced the test-fire and stated that it was conducted under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command (SFC).

The Agni-4 an indigenously developed, medium-range surface-to-surface ballistic missile capable of delivering conventional and nuclear payloads. It is capable of striking targets at a distance of up to 4,000 kilometres.

4. Frances’s Dassault Proposes Mega Deal for Supplying 114 Rafale Jets to IAF

France’s Dassault Aviation has formally submitted its technical and commercial proposal to the Government of India for a mega Rs 3.25 lakh crore deal to supply 114 Rafale fighter jets to the Indian Air Force. This moves the deal officially into the negotiation stage.

The Rafale is a twin-engine, multirole combat aircraft developed by Dassault Aviation of France. It is used for air defence, deep strike, reconnaissance, and nuclear deterrence roles, and it operates from both land bases and aircraft carriers in naval variants.
