1. NSA Doval Meets Chinese Vice President Ahead of India China Boundary Talks

NSA Ajit Doval is in Beijing for the 25th Round of Special Representatives talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the long-running boundary dispute. He met Chinese vice president Han Zheng in Beijing, ahead of the Special Representatives talks on the India-China boundary question. NSA Doval arrived in Beijing on Monday for these meetings, ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s expected visit to New Delhi for the BRICS Summit which is to be held in New Delhi Next Month.

2. Putin Assures India of Energy and Fertiliser Supplies Amid West Asia Disruptions

India’s External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar met Russian President Vladimir Putin on two-day official visit to Moscow. President Putin assured India of supplies of energy and fertilisers amid disruptions caused by the West Asia conflict. Putin is expected to meet Prime Minister Modi on the margins of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Kyrgyzstan this month and on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi in September.

3. Skyroot Prepares 2nd Vikram-1 Launch After Maiden Orbital Success

Indian private space company Skyroot Aerospace is preparing for the second launch of its Vikram 1 rocket. The rocket’s first stage is already on its way to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Shriharikota. The development comes just a month after Vikram 1 successfully reached orbit on its maiden flight, marking a major milestone for India’s growing private space sector. Skyroot has already started work on its next mission, showing the company’s push towards faster and more regular launches.

4. US Ambassador Gor Visits C-130J Manufacturing Facility in Hyderabad

US Ambassador Sergio Gor visited the Tata-Lockheed Martin Aerostructures Ltd’s manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. “The production in India of critical structures for the C-130J military transport aircraft is a strong example of the growing defence cooperation between the US and India, and such efforts are set to advance the shared vision for a free and secure Indo-Pacific”, Gor said on Monday. Established in 2010, the joint venture supports India’s ‘Make in India’ goals and is the sole global supplier of C-130J empennage assemblies used on all new Super Hercules aircraft manufactured in the US.

5. INS Sudarshini Reaches Lisbon on Lokayan 26 Expedition

The Indian Navy’s sail training ship, INS Sudarshini, arrived at Lisbon, Portugal on 22 Aug 2026, as part of her ongoing Lokayan 26 transoceanic expedition. The three-masted barque made a grand entry through the Tagus River, showcasing traditional sailing and seamanship skills. The visit to Lisbon marks the ship’s 15th port visit in seven months of voyage, reaffirming India’s enduring maritime connect and spirit of goodwill across the globe. As part of Lokayan 26, INS Sudarshini continues to carry the message of friendship, cooperation and camaraderie strengthening bonds with partner nations.
