1. Air Marshal Tejpal Singh, assumed the appointment of Deputy Chief of the Air Staff

Air Marshal Tejpal Singh took charge as the Deputy Chief of the Air Staff on 1st August 2026. On the occasion, he laid a wreath at the National War Memorial and paid homage to the brave souls who laid down their lives in the service of the nation. Commissioned as a fighter pilot on 16 Jun 1990, Air Marshal Tejpal Singh has over 3,500 hours of flying experience. He assumed the position after Air Marshal AK Bharti retired.
2. Rear Admiral S M Urooj Athar assumed charge as Principal, Indian Naval Academy

Rear Admiral S M Urooj Athar assumed charge as Principal of the Indian Naval Academy on August 2nd, 2026., bringing an extensive background in electronics, meteorology, and naval education to the role. He was commissioned into the Indian Navy in in February 1992. He is an Electronics Engineer and a specialist in Meteorology, Oceanography, Satellite Meteorology.
3. Indian Navy Officers welcome Indian Weightlifting Team from the Commonwealth Games

A team of Indian Navy officers is at Indira Gandhi International Airport to welcome the Indian Weightlifting team after their good show at Commonwealth Games. The contingent received a grand welcome from the Indian Navy upon return to New Delhi after a successful CWG campaign. The Indian weightlifting contingent concluded their Commonwealth Games campaign with a total of eight medals: one gold, six silver, and one bronze.
4. Indian Navy receives delivery of the Nistar-class Vessel ‘Nipun’

Hindustan Shipyard delivered the Nistar-class vessel ‘Nipun’ to the Indian Navy on July 30, 2026 in Visakhapatnam. The ship supports submarine rescue operations as a mother vessel for the DSRV. Its systems also enable diver monitoring and deep-sea salvage missions. Built by Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), the 118-meter-long ship features over 75% indigenous content and supports deep-sea diving and submarine rescue operations.
