1. Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, CNS, meets General Upendra Dwivedi

Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Chief of the Naval Staff, met General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff. The interaction underscored the shared commitment of the Indian Army and Indian Navy towards strengthening synergy, fostering greater integration, and enhancing the collective operational readiness of the Armed Forces in furtherance of national security.

2. India receives the fourth squadron of the S-400 missile system

India has received its fourth squadron of S-400 missile systems, according to a report by ANI. The contract for five S-400 systems was signed in 2018, with the first three squadrons delivered two years ago. Deliveries of the fourth and fifth squadrons were delayed due to the ongoing Russia–Ukraine War. The S-400 achieved its longest-range air kill during Operation Sindoor by reportedly shooting down a Pakistani Saab 2000 Erieye AWACS aircraft.

3. National Defence College of India delegation visits Canada

A 16-member delegation from the National Defence College of India is on a five-day visit to Canada. The delegation, comprising officers from the Indian Armed Forces, Civil Services, and five officers from Friendly Foreign Countries, interacted with counterparts from the Department of National Defence and Global Affairs Canada to explore avenues for enhancing India–Canada defence cooperation. The delegation will also engage with academia and visit key defence-related institutions during the visit.

4. Lockheed Martin’s JAGM missile successfully intercepts drone target

Lockheed Martin successfully intercepted a Group 3 one-way attack drone on June 3 using a Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) launched from a GRIZZLY containerised launcher for the first time. The Sanctum Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) battle manager and Fortem R-40 radars were used to detect, track, and engage the target successfully.

5. Shield AI’s Hivemind completes first multi-platform teaming flight

Hivemind completed its first autonomous multi-platform teaming flight involving a V-BAT UAV and multiple Destinus Defence Hornet systems. The V-BAT served as a communications relay between the ground station and the Hornets, while Hivemind coordinated formations and managed in-flight mission updates in real time, without requiring direct control of each platform. The test demonstrated how platforms with different communication architectures can operate as a single autonomous unit in contested environments.

6. US Marines bid farewell to AV-8B Harrier II in sundown ceremony

The U.S. Marine Corps bid farewell to the AV-8B Harrier II during a sundown ceremony at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina. The retirement of the iconic aircraft, which has supported Marine Corps and joint operations for more than four decades, marks the beginning of a new era and paves the way for the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing’s full transition to the F-35B and F-35C Lightning II. VMA-223 is the last operational Harrier squadron in the U.S. Marine Corps.
