1. Indian Army selects MEPRO 6X day scope for Negev LMG

The Indian Army has selected the Israeli Meprolight MEPRO 6x  day scope for its Negev NG-7 Light Machine Gun (LMG). The programme will be executed through Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), while the sights will be manufactured in India under a Transfer of Technology (ToT) agreement between Israeli optics firm Meprolight and Indian company RRP Defence. MEPRO 6X is a compact and lightweight (640 gr.) x6 telescopic day sight with enhanced optics. Utilising a quick-release Picatinny adaptor, this robust sight provides five different brightness settings for efficient target acquisition. The sight operates with a single standard battery and is equipped with a unique energy-saving feature for extended operation. 

2. DRDO to showcase advanced systems at Eurosatory 2026

DRDO will be showcasing advanced systems and technologies at EUROSATORY 2026, Paris, from 15-19 June, as part of the India Pavilion, highlighting India’s growing indigenous defence capabilities and innovation, reinforcing the country’s position as an emerging global leader in defence technology. The EUROSATORY is the world's premier land and air-land defence and security exhibition, and is officially taking place at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre in Paris, France.

3. DRDO tests BMD defence and NASM-MR missile

DRDO conducted three consecutive flight-tests on June 10 and 11 to demonstrate multi-layered defence against long-range ballistic missiles and anti-ship capability at medium range. The interceptors successfully engaged their respective targets. India’s BMD programme was launched in 1999 after Pakistan’s maiden nuclear test in 1998 and China’s leaps in this sphere. The BMD works on two levels — endo-atmospheric within Earth’s atmosphere and exo-atmospheric (the space stretching beyond Earth’s atmosphere. It consists of three phases. Phase 1 consisted of Prithvi Defence Vehicle (PDV) and Advanced Air Defence (AAD) interceptor systems. The second phase of the BMD consists of two interceptors known as the AD-1 and AD-2. Phase 3, which has been initiated by the DRDO, will see the development of two new interceptor missiles, which are internally called AD-AH and AD-AM. The NASM-MR missile has a strike range of 350 km.

4. RM Rajnath Singh inaugurates the Advanced Weapon System Complex in Hyderabad

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Advanced Weapon System Complex at DRDL, Hyderabad. Highlighting the success of indigenous missile systems during Operation Sindoor. He described ‘Mission Sudarshan Chakra’ as a multi-level missile defence system for modern India and called for continued innovation to strengthen national security.

5. Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit visits HAL Aircraft Division in Bengaluru

Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, the Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC) of India, visited HAL’s Aircraft Division, Bengaluru. The Air Marshal reviewed the progress of the Tejas - LCA Mk1A programme along with other key indigenous aviation projects, including the Hindustan Turbo Trainer (HTT) 40.
