1. India and Zimbabwe co-chair Joint Defence Committee meeting

Joint Secretary Amitabh Prasad and Zimbabwe’s Permanent Secretary Aaron Daniel Tonde Nhepera co-chaired the inaugural India–Zimbabwe Joint Defence Committee meeting in New Delhi on June 5. Discussions focused on strengthening defence cooperation through training, maintenance support, military exercises, peacekeeping operations, and joint manufacturing initiatives.
2. Indian Navy to induct five warships this month

The Indian Navy will commission five warships this month, according to a report by The Times of India. These include the stealth frigates INS Dunagiri and INS Mahendragiri, Survey Vessel Sanshodhak, and the anti-submarine warfare shallow water crafts Agray and Malvan. The induction will enhance the Navy’s stealth capabilities, anti-submarine warfare (ASW) capacity, and ocean surveillance capabilities.
3. IAF Chief concludes three-day visit to France

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, PVSM, AVSM, concluded a three-day official visit to France, reaffirming the longstanding partnership between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the French Air and Space Force (AAEF). During the visit, he held bilateral discussions with General Jérôme Bellanger, Chief of Staff of the French Air and Space Force. He also visited the Mont-de-Marsan Air Combat Centre, undertook a familiarisation flight aboard an A400M from Orléans Air Base, and met leading defence industry representatives from Dassault Aviation, Thales, Safran, and MBDA, further advancing the Make in India initiative.
4. Boeing completes first-phase testing of RVS 2.0 for KC-46 tanker

Boeing has completed the first phase of flight testing for the KC-46’s Remote Vision System (RVS) 2.0 upgrade. The tests validated system performance and confirmed the effectiveness of the upgraded cameras, controls, and processing hardware under real aerial refuelling conditions.
5. Canada procures Lockheed Martin HIMARS rocket systems

The Canadian government has announced the acquisition of 26 Lockheed Martin High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), associated munitions, and a comprehensive ten-year industrial and economic plan. The procurement is expected to strengthen the North American defence industrial base. HIMARS is a highly mobile, combat-proven system capable of firing precision munitions against long-range targets. Transportable by C-130 and C-17 aircraft, it offers rapid deployability and interoperability with NATO allies, employing NATO-standard munitions such as GMLRS and the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM).
