1. Rwandan Army Chief of Training meets Defence Secretary

The Rwandan Army Chief for Joint Force Development, Training and Doctrine, Brigadier General Louis Kanobayire, met Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh on July 6. The two sides discussed expanding new avenues of India–Rwanda defence cooperation and reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening the bilateral defence partnership.
2. Indian Army to place order for restoration and modernisation of Soviet-era armoured fleet

The Indian Army is set to place orders worth ₹75,000 crore to restore and modernise its Soviet-era armoured fleet. The package includes the restoration of 790 T-72 tanks worth ₹13,000 crore and 200 T-90 Bhishma tanks worth ₹56,000 crore. Along with this, the modernisation of 500 BMP-2 infantry combat vehicles by AVNL (Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited) is worth ₹5,000 crore. Additionally, the restoration of 230 Armoured Recovery Vehicles (ARVs) by BEML (Bharat Earth Movers Limited) is valued at ₹1,400 crore.
3. Two Assam Rifles soldiers killed, several others wounded in Manipur

Two Assam Rifles soldiers were killed in action and several others were injured in an ambush in Manipur's Ukhrul district. A convoy of the 40 Assam Rifles was targeted on NH-202 with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), followed by small-arms fire. Security forces have launched a search operation to identify and apprehend the attackers.
4. PGZ and Anduril sign agreement for Barracuda-500M cruise missile production.

Polish Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. (PGZ), and Anduril Industries announced on July 6 a cooperative agreement to establish local production of the surface-launched Barracuda-500M (SLB-500M) cruise missile in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The SLB-500M is designed to engage a wide range of land and maritime targets and carries a 100-pound warhead with a range of over 500 nautical miles (approximately 926 km).
5. Canada selects TKMS for its CPSP submarine programme

Canada has selected Germany's Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) over South Korea's Hanwha Ocean for its Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP). The announcement was made by Prime Minister Mark Carney in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on July 6. Under the programme, Canada plans to procure 12 Type 212CD submarines. Notably, TKMS is also in negotiations with the Indian government for the procurement of Type 214 submarines under Project 75(I).
